In a world where millions go to bed hungry every night
A meal is a beacon of hope and a promise of survival. It fuels our bodies, minds, and ambitions, enabling us to lead healthy, productive lives.
Unfortunately, food security is a luxury in many deprived communities. In remote villages and crowded urban slums, families are forced to make agonising choices between buying food and meeting other essential needs. Malnutrition creeps in, robbing them of their health, dreams, and hopes for a better future.
Global Food Crisis
The threat of food insecurity hovers over millions of lives in developing nations, casting a dark shadow of hunger, malnutrition, and deprivation. This harrowing reality is quite evident in countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India, where the existence of natural disasters, poverty, and conflict are intertwined.

The magnitude of this food crisis is staggering. According to the World Food Programme, nearly 828 million people worldwide face chronic hunger, with the majority residing in developing countries. In Pakistan, an estimated 44 million people are food insecure, while in India, nearly 220 million people are undernourished.
Libya’s recent floods have exacerbated the country’s existing food crisis, leaving thousands struggling to access essential food supplies. The floods caused by Storm Daniel in September 2023 have led to significant shortages of food, particularly in affected areas. According to the World Food Programme (WFP), over 100,000 people in Libya are in need of urgent food assistance.
